Do you feel like your relationship has broken down? Are you experiencing problems with communication, infidelity, sex or money? Or maybe you just feel like you are growing apart?

I am a Relate trained relationship therapist with over 22 years of counselling experience. I specialise in both couple and individual counselling. I have regularly featured on BBC radio talking about my approach to Relationship counselling, answering questions from listeners and speaking on various topics.

The counselling process is about change and how you would like your relationship to look moving forward. You are the one that holds all the answers and counselling is an effective way of helping you get to them. This is where exploration and understanding is vital to be able to make the changes you need to get the outcome you desire.

My approach is centred around you and your needs, that is why I offer counselling services over the phone, via online video call (Zoom) and Face to Face counselling. The Face to Face counselling sessions are run from my home in Basingstoke, Hampshire. If you are looking to find out more please do get in touch.

Common Issues I Deal With

  • Affairs and infidelity and how to deal with these problems.

  • Communication problems within the relationship and finding ways to overcome them.

  • Dealing with sexual issues, such as different levels of sexual desire.

  • Difficulties with parenting. I ran parenting courses on behalf of CAFCASS between 2009-18.

  • Conflicts and arguments; overcoming these boundaries and promoting open discussions.

  • Grief and relationship endings through separation, divorce or death.

Relationship & Couples Counselling

Feeling unsure about how to improve or save your relationship is a common place to be when people embark on counselling. My approach offers the couple, or individual client, the opportunity to explore options. The counselling process gives clients the chance to make the changes needed to move forward in a happier and more fulfilling way.  A safe and comfortable environment is provided in which to discuss the difficulties you are facing.

Communication issues, sexual problems, emotional issues, affairs or historical challenges from one’s past can often feel difficult to talk about; the counselling process creates a safe environment to ease this. At home it may feel like you are going around in circles and neither feels their needs are being met or that they are heard. Counselling offers a space for everyone’s point of view to be aired.

Individual Counselling

A large number of my clients come for counselling on their own. Many people have issues they would like to work on alone, some may be on the verge of separating or are already separated or divorced. Other times their partner doesn’t want to come to counselling and this should never be a reason not go ahead on your own.

Individual counselling is also a very effective way of working through the grief and loss of any relationship whether it be a spouse, a loved one or a family member.

Counselling Options

Face to Face

Face to face counselling sessions take place at my home in Basingstoke, Hampshire where I have a designated and private room where I carry out my counselling service. There is also parking available for clients.

Phone

Counselling over the phone can be a great alternative to face to face counselling. Often this works best in the evenings, after clients have finished work and have more time to focus. Individual and couples counselling can both be done this way.

Video Call

Video call counselling takes place using the software Zoom (a free service clients can easily download). Couples and Individual counselling can take place via this form and is a great way to get a more personal counselling experience from your own home.
